What to do when the power goes out!!

So......I am sitting at my computer, minding my own business......well, mine.....and of course yours. I should say, reading my own business........when out of nowhere.....I hear a ***POP*** which sounds like the beginning of one of those big fireworks set off! Then.......

Instant power outage.....

Dang it!

So.......I did what any sensible person would do......I started making dinner.......Yes I did, because that is what I should have been doing in the first place......

Turned on the oven to toast some buns...........yeah, you know the one that ISN'T WORKING......I didn't notice........hmmmmm.

Open the can of baked beans......put them in the pot......turn on the electric stove....yeah, you know the one that ISN'T WORKING!........I didn't notice.....hmmmm.

Then......I put my potatoes in my pampered chef steamer (if you don't have this item, you should get it.....super awesome...best baked potatoes......evah!). Pop it in the microwave and try to cook them.......yeah, you know the one that ISN'T WORKING! Finally I flipping noticed........and, yes....my friends I did try to push the buttons a few times......BEFORE I realized my mistake.

Sooooooo............what do you make for dinner when the power is out my friends......s'mores on the grill......that is right, just crack out the marshmallows....and get to toasting. Have you ever had them with a Reese's peanut butter cup instead of a Hershey bar? There is some protein for you! I am a good mom, there is dairy in chocolate.....and Graham in Graham crackers.....and mellow in marshmallows.....I am covered!

Power was restored 2 hours later. Turns out.....it was some dumb bird flew into the power box about three blocks away......with the POP I heard, pretty sure birdie didn't make it.....I'm just sayin'.

Still laughing at that one. Really funny because I do things just like that. Takes me a bit to catch on sometimes.

You could have had electrified birdie for dinner too.

the very nerve of that bird forcing you to eat smores.

I got a sweet little birthday card in the mail from someone.....it made my day.

You know how to make smores out of a bad situation. Woot!

Poor birdie. Hopefully it was the same bird that keeps flying down my chimney and flying at my head when I let him out of the fire place.

I love the idea of PB smores! mmmmmm Maybe that is what we will have for dinner. I can turn off all the lights and pretend the power is off. No, it's too hot!

S'mores sounds so perfect for dinner. Maybe I should make that for breakfast (since it's not quite dinner time yet.)
